Marathi short film ‘Pandhara Chivda’ has won the prestigious Bronze Elephant Award at the kidzcinema international film Festival 2020. The film is the only Indian film in the list of awarded films at the festival. The other two Awarded films are from Slovakia and Canada.
‘Pandhara Chivda’ shows an eight-year-old child’s journey in the hunt for a taste that he comes across by accident and keeps on asking unanswered questions.
The film has been directed by FTII Pune alumnus Himanshu Singh who directed this film just after passing out from the institute.
The producer of the film Milind Damle has expressed his exhilaration on receiving the award. Damle who is also a faculty member at FTII expressed his gratitude to the crew and cast of the film and mentioned that short films these days are a powerful medium of storytelling and filmmakers should explore such a medium.
The film has been shot by Ashwin Chide and the art for the film has been designed by Pankaj Katware. The film is entirely shot in Pune and surroundings with a crew mostly from the FTII.
The film has already been officially selected at various film festivals including Chitra Bharati Film Festival, Ahmedabad, Chalchitram, Guwahati, Ahmednagar Film Festival, Kolhapur International Film Festival, etc is now available on YouTube where it has garnered positive reviews.
